Heaven at Home is an in-home hospice service that attends to companion animals in need of aid during end of life transition. All services are provided by a licensed veterinarian in the comfort of your home. This allows for a comprehensive evaluation of your pet’s condition in their familiar environment.
How We Work With Your Veterinarian
At your election, we are happy to work in partnership with your pet’s primary veterinarian to ensure continuity of care. This helps formulate a well-informed palliative care plan tailored to your pet’s unique health history. We then keep your veterinarian apprised on your pet’s treatment plan and status throughout the process.
About Our Founder
Dr. Laurie Brush is the founder of Heaven at Home Pet Hospice. She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (BA) and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Michigan State University. As a practicing vet since 1998, she became involved in the movement toward in-home palliative care and euthanasia, beginning with her own 17-year-old rescue dog, Herkemer. Through her personal experience, she became a passionate advocate for peaceful at-home transitions. She is a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice & Palliative Care, the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA), the MVMA, the WMVMA and the West Michigan Academy of Small Animal Practitioners (WMASAP).
We know that making end-of-life choices for your pet is daunting. We strive to make peaceful memories to comfort you and your family at this difficult time.
