Stephanie comes to Heaven at Home Aftercare Center with many years of veterinary service in the West Michigan area. She is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and protection and has been active in West Michigan feline rescue for 10 years through Carol’s Ferals. Stephanie also worked as an Animal Care Technician and Foster Coordinator at the Humane Society of West Michigan.
She believes programs save lives and advocates for TNR, low cost spay and neuter, foster programs, and community outreach. She has a special place in her heart for Community Cats and the most vulnerable neonatal kittens. Her work in the Emergency department at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners exposed her to numerous end-of-life situations and showed her the importance of caring for the family when it is time to say goodbye, just as much as caring for their beloved furry family member.
Stephanie is dedicated to providing the most respectful and compassionate aftercare to families at Heaven At Home Aftercare Center. She believes even in death, honor and respect are essential. She looks forward to serving our community in this way during a most difficult time, in hopes of easing pain and assisting with the gentle care of loved ones.
Stephanie lives in West Michigan with her husband, son, 4 cats (Potter, Renwick, Cauliflower, & Twiggy!), and their dog, Hank. She spends much of her time outdoors on the area trails and Nature Preserves. Her love of mushrooms/fungi, wildlife, trees, and insects has her outside exploring whenever possible! Stephanie also enjoys collecting various vintage items, listening to music, art, classic film, cooking vegan food, drinking coffee, and a good game of Scrabble!
