Now We Can Add Acupuncture and Chiropractic to Home Hospice Care!

Heaven at Home Pet Hospice is delighted to offer home acupuncture and chiropractic care as an add-on to home hospice care through our partnership with Dr. Molly Doyle of Resilience Integrative Veterinary Medicine. Acupuncture and Chiropractic are both important tools for hospice and palliative care treatment plans as well as general pain management and wellness maintenance for your middle-aged pets. Acupuncture and Chiropractic treatment can be added to our home hospice or pain management programs as part of our multi-modal treatment for your senior pet. (Please note that our provider requires that referrals have been assessed for treatment and are on a home hospice care plan.)

Benefits of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points in the body to help treat specific disease processes and allow the body to heal itself.  A recent surge of scientific research supports the efficacy of this medical technique to treat animals for pain, expedite rehabilitation, and even improve the efficacy of medication. Benefits include the release of “feel good” hormones and endorphins, improved circulation and nerve-firing, and an increase in circulation of stem cells. Acupuncture can aid in the treatment of:
  • Geriatric Patients
  • Arthritis
  • Pain Management
  • Gait Abnormalities/ Lameness
  • Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD)
  • Rehabilitation of soft tissue or orthopedic injuries
  • Allergies
  • Reproductive disorders

Benefits of Chiropractic Treatment

Just as in humans, joints are held together by a series of tendons, ligaments, and surrounding muscles/fascia.  Abnormal joint mobility, especially in the spinal canal, leads to pain, decreased blood flow, disruption of proper nerve signals, and degeneration of the joint itself. Chiropractic aims to restore the normal movement of a joint, therefore mitigating pain, ensuring proper mechanics, and restoring any inhibited circulation and nerve conduction.  As a result – the body’s innate defense system is then able to maintain proper function of not only the musculoskeletal system but also the normal function of organs and the immune system. Chiropractic can aid in the treatment/management of:
  • Arthritis
  • Injury Prevention – Athletes, geriatric patients, those predisposed to IVDD, etc
  • Gait abnormalities
  • Rehabilitation from injury or trauma
  • Allergies

Meet Dr. Molly Doyle, DVM – Resilience Integrative Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Molly Doyle, DVM, is a native of West Michigan, where her love of animals began at a very young age. She started riding horses when she was just 3 years old and went on to show her Connemaras across the state in both the Hunter and Jumper show rings. She also grew up raising, training, and showing dogs, sheep, and steers in 4H and regional shows.
After graduating from veterinary medical school, Dr. Doyle worked as an equine (horse) veterinarian at Wilhite & Frees Equine Hospital, an equine surgical referral facility outside of Kansas City, before returning home to West Michigan and founding Resilience Integrative Veterinary Medicine. Here she discovered her passion for using animal chiropractic and acupuncture alongside her traditional veterinary care to help athletes feel and perform their best.
Dr. Doyle also has a special interest in pain management and rehabilitation, whether in athletes, those suffering from chronic illnesses, or in helping to ease the aging process for our geriatric patients. Dr. Doyle is devoted to providing exceptional veterinary medicine with compassion and integrity at all times.
Outside of work, Dr. Doyle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, any active outdoor activity, riding her Connemara, Isaac, and playing with her adopted Border Collie, Jake.
