Dr. Brush is the founder of Heaven at Home Pet Hospice. She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (BA) and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Michigan State University. As a practicing vet since 1998, she became involved in the movement toward in-home palliative care and euthanasia, beginning with her own 17-year-old rescue dog, Herkemer.
Through her personal experience, she became a passionate advocate for peaceful at-home transitions. She is a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice & Palliative Care (IAAHPC), the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA), the MVMA, the WMVMA and the West Michigan Academy of Small Animal Practitioners (WMASAP). Dr. Brush is among the first 100 graduates to receive advanced Certification as a Hospice & Palliative Care Veterinarian through the IAAHCP.
