In Loving Memory of Tipper
March 1, 2006 – July 6, 2026
With impossibly heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tipper, who peacefully left this world at home on July 6, 2026, at the remarkable age of 20.
Before he was ours, Tipper spent nearly a decade as the cherished nursing home cat, quietly weaving himself into the lives of residents, families, and staff. He had an extraordinary gift for finding those who needed comfort most. Whether he was curled in a lap, following staff through the halls, or greeting visitors with his unmistakable voice, Tipper brought warmth and companionship to countless people during some of life’s most difficult and beautiful moments.
By what felt like fate, Tipper eventually found his way into the home of a hospice CNA who understood just how precious his gentle heart truly was. We were lucky enough to spend his retirement years loving him, spoiling him, and being loved right back.
To know Tipper was to know a cat who never met a stranger. He was endlessly affectionate, wonderfully opinionated, and never shy about announcing exactly when he wanted attention—or snacks. His loud Siamese conversations filled our home every day, and the silence he leaves behind feels almost impossible to comprehend.
Even in his twentieth year, Tipper remained determined to be close to the people he loved. He greeted us at the door, supervised daily life, demanded cuddles on his own schedule, and reminded us every single day that love is often expressed in the smallest moments.
Tipper is survived by his devoted parents, Olivis and Joseph, who will miss him beyond words; his golden retriever brothers, Harvey and Geronimo (“Ronnie”), who will forever wonder why the house is just a little quieter now; his loving grandpawrents, Jenny & Gumpy and Beth & Jeff; his favorite uncles, Steven and Dilly; and his Aunt Alex and Uncle Jake, all of whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dog brother, Rewfus (“Rew”), and his cherished cat cousin, Callie. We like to imagine they were waiting patiently to welcome him home.
Twenty years could never have been enough.
Thank you, Tipper, for the comfort you gave to strangers, the joy you brought into our home, and the unconditional love you shared so freely. Your tiny pawprints reached farther than you’ll ever know, touching hundreds of lives throughout your lifetime.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that a life so full of love can never truly be lost. You changed us for the better, and we will carry your memory with us for the rest of our lives.
You were deeply loved. You will be endlessly missed. And you will always be our sweetest, loudest boy.
