Dr. Laurie Brush, founder of Heaven at Home Pet Hospice, is joining her International associates in Rimini, Italy for the 1st International Conference on Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She is attending as a board member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC.org).
The Pain Management segment of the conference features keynote topics on everything from frailty in senior pets to helping pet parents know when it’s time.
From a technical veterinary perspective, the conference will delve into pre-euthanasia sedation protocols, integrative medicine tools for palliative care, and the management of multiple medications in animal hospice care.
“I’m so excited to meet with my international peers and learn about different practices and gather the wealth of resources available from this kind of exchange,” said Dr. Brush. “The field of compassionate care for senior companion animals is growing at an incredible rate and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
