In Memoriam: Axel

By Jolie Mosser, published on April 22nd, 2025
"A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brush for helping our sweet Axel cross the rainbow bridge with such peace and compassion. Your gentle presence made an incredibly difficult moment feel calm and full of love. We’re also deeply grateful to the aftercare team for treating our boy with such tenderness and respect. Your kindness brought us comfort during a time of heartbreak, and we will never forget it. "

In loving memory of our sweet boy Axel.

Our gentle giant brought so much love and joy into our lives. He adored pup cups, car rides, short walks, playing in the snow, cool sunny days, and his soft stuffed animals. He loved food—especially when you were in the kitchen—and always kept a close eye (and nose) on what was cooking.

His zoomies were short but powerful, full of energy from his 180-pound build. He loved greeting you at the door, patiently waiting for you to take off your shoe—then gently taking it, and carrying it off like a prized possession. He loved being near his humans and protected his home with a bold, commanding bark that let everyone know he was on duty.

Axel had a majestic, regal presence—his stately frame and soulful eyes turned heads wherever he went, and he carried himself with the quiet dignity of an old soul. We were blessed with 9 incredible years with his loyalty. He was our world and touched the hearts of so many. He will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever remembered.
