Tucker was just 5 weeks old when we adopted him from the Humane Society of W.M. Our children were age 9 and 12 at this time. He lived EIGHTEEN years with us and we are really struggling to know life without our sweet boy! Always a lover but still had some playfulness in him right up until he passed. He was a food hound! We had to watch him all the time because he would eat on a cake that was cooling on the stove or lick up all the crumbs on the stove or counter. He also ate any plastic grocery bags within seconds so we were always hyper vigilant of these bags being put up high. He loved his 2 dogs, Jazzy and Scooter who he outlived. He was an indoor cat only. He hated the vet and once bit a vet. He was unwelcome from then on. I’d say he didn’t see a vet in over 10 years. He held his stresses inward so not having to ever leave our house was probably why he lived a long and healthy life. Our family misses him so much! He was always the door greeter to anyone coming to visit. He snuggled with his mama almost every night. He was our therapy through good times a bad. Our family lost my husband, our kid’s dad, in April this year and now our Tucker. I knew though that if I had to make that dreadful decision, I wanted him to stay in our house. He hadn’t left it for over 10 years. Heaven at Home came so quick on a Saturday even. We are SO very grateful for your service, love and compassion.
