My sweet baby, my sweet boy
Oh my Zeppy, you brought me so much joy. With his sarcastic antics and being a snack extraordinare.. He loved everyone, going for walks, was the best inspector gadget spot sniffer. He loved our local parks and all the local drive throughs.
He most definitely was a local connoisseur of Millie’s Farm Meats, R Farm bread (he loved toast), Nelson’s fruits n veggies.
Zeppy was 16 and I knew the rest of the winter would be brutal on him. He was Knuckling and couldn’t get up on his own.
I took 2 weeks off of work to spend with him before January 7th. We went places, saw people and did things.
Those 2 weeks made me see that I owed it to him.
I also had the luxury to choose for him not to pass on an exam room table or floor. My heart is forever broken and my soul is lost but I owed it to him. I did not want him to suffer.
If you’re wondering, is it time¿?
All I can say is, your dog will tell you all you need to know. Even if it is not right in this moment. If you can take extra time from work while they’re still here, you won’t regret it!
I’m thankful I gave myself the two weeks to do as many of our favorites and to say goodbye, to try to prepare my heart and soul to let go of his.
We went and got Zeppy’s Grammy and we had a bucket list on the way. We stopped at TSC so he could say good bye, stopped at our local steak house where he ate a steak, stopped at my Dad’s, drove through one of our favorite parks.
We arrived where his dog lady (sitter) and my soul sister was waiting outside in the parking lot.
It’s a very warm, welcoming, calm and serene atmosphere. I brought Zeppys bed and blankets for him to get settled. Though it was the hardest thing i’ve ever had to do, They were very kind, empathetic, compassionate, patient and understanding. I highly recommend Dr. Brush and her team.
