Emily has been working in animal welfare since 2018. Originally from Muskegon, she moved to Allendale to be closer to GVSU, where she graduated with a major in biology and a minor in psychology. She has dedicated herself to the physical, mental, and emotional care of animals her whole life, bringing home strays and trying to save wildlife every chance she could.
Emily found herself called to join the aftercare team at Heaven at Home Pet Hospice in early 2026. She is honored to be a part of each pet’s journey.
When not at work, Emily enjoys writing, drawing, crafting, and spending time outside. In the summer, you can find her by the water or a campfire.
Emily has three cats – Milo (9), Tito (8), and Tango (6) – all brown and white tabbies. She also has a ‘chiweenie’ named Jigsaw (7), who is a hoarding rescue from the shelter. They have been together for almost 4 years now, and Jigsaw has really come out of her shell and is living her best life!
