Michelle joined the team at Heaven at Home in June of 2025. She started her journey with veterinary medicine in 2000 at the Animal Emergency Hospital after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then went back to school to earn her Veterinary Technician license in 2013 from Baker College in Muskegon, afterwards deciding to make the change to preventative medicine. In early 2025, Michelle decided it was time for yet another change and turned her sights toward senior and palliative care. Currently, Michelle splits her time between 3 different practices- as a licensed veterinary technician for a general medicine practice, a surgical technician for a specialty practice, and the (hospice, palliative, care, nurse/coordinator??) for Heaven at Home. Michelle has many loves in veterinary medicine, but she is most passionate about helping pets and their humans navigate challenging times while helping to provide the best quality of life possible and honoring the human-animal bond.
When she’s not working, she is spending time with her husband, 2 children, her dog Bacon, and her 4 cats – Cletus, Jeff, Ramona, and Beezus. She is always looking for her next hobby and will happily talk to anyone about native gardening.
Her goals in life are to never be bored and to never EVER stop learning.
